Your Answer:
Tragedy of the commons could be best observed in case of overfishing. I believe that there are very few restrictions when it comes to fishing in the oceans. Large boats even fish in the coldest seas of Antartica. If every body can freely fish everywhere without limit in terms of quality (sometimes even very small and/or pregnant fish are taken) and quantity, the fish’s reproduction can never keep up with consumption. Other animals that feed on fish (i.e. penguin, birds) will have no food as well. In sum, tragedy of the commons can be disadvantageous due to exploitative and excessive consumption.
