Topic: Journal Questions
Hello,
this class is twice a week, and there is a reading assigned for each day we meet and there are some questions related to the reading that we have to answer. These journal questions are 20% of my grade!!
The answers do not need to be long, it is not like a essay type questions. 10 sentences are good.
The first upcoming reading is:
Frantz Fanon, Black Skin White Masks, Ch 5 ( I have the pdf file which I can send you)
Reading Questions
1. Pick a passage from the reading that strikes you the most. Briefly write why/in what ways the passage struck you.
Answer one of the following questions
2. On pages 111-113, Fanon explains his encounter with the white gaze, in an incident of a white boy interpellating him on the train. What is Fanon trying to say through this story? What doyou understand by it?
3. What is Fanon’s move against the white gaze? What is his tactic of survival?
