Introduction:  

The discussion forum topic is an assignment to be submitted for a grade.  This is the first of ten discussion forum topics to be submitted during the semester.  This is a two part assignment.  Part 1 is to submit a response worth up to 4 points, and Part 2 is to reply to at least two of your classmates’ responses worth up to 1 point, for a total of up to 5 points for the assignment.  Read the directions carefully and read the grading rubric, then compose your response and submit your response by clicking Reply.     

Directions: 

Part 1:

You will read about the periods of the human life span in the textbook, and about the main areas of human  development.  Pick one of the periods of the human life span that seems the most interesting to you, that you want to learn more about, and say why that period of the human life span is interesting.  Pick one of the main areas of human development and ask one question that you have about that main area of human development in the period of the human life span that you chose.  

For example,  if the period of the human life span that you found to be most interesting was late adulthood, then you might say that one reason why that period was the most interesting to you was because you plan to major in gerontology one day.  Then for example, you might say that one of the main areas of human development you are interested in is the physical domain, and one question you might have about the physical domain in the period of late adulthood is What happens in the brain of those who are elderly, that they develop Alzheimer’s disease?      

The purpose of the discussion forum topic is to apply the course material to the real world and to your own life by giving examples that are meaningful to you.  This is due by Sunday night at 11:59 p.m.  Please see the Grading Rubric for Discussion Forum Topic.
