Driving is a task that needs focus and attention because life is at risk if an accident will happen while driving. There are people who drink while driving and there are those who text while driving. In both situations, the accident will most probably occur because the driver himself is not focused on driving as he would experience blacking out. While the incidents on the highway directly impact the individuals involved, the consequences of significant loss of suffering and human potential cannot be taken for granted. Accidents greatly impact an individual and the people surrounding him, as such, creating a negative impact within his circle. When a person will drink while driving, there is a great chance that the person will face an accident because the said person is not on his self. He may resolve to speed driving and may affect other vehicles that are sober drivers. Drink driving is highly penalized in different countries as it has a negative impact on society. Moreover, text while driving is also a frequent cause of the accident because the person is still not focused on his way. Texting is a practice of many people and they usually do it while they are driving. The result of such action may be harmful to the driver and also the people inside the vehicle. Thus, one should stay focus and assure that driving will not be sacrificed just for the sake of communicating with other people. One must remember that your life is very important that is why we must be very cautious on guarding it.
The difference between the two situations is on the capacity of the person to think properly while in that situation. In driving while being drunk, the person usually not in his sanity because alcohol influences individuals in a way that he does not know what he is doing. While in texting while driving, the person is still sane but his lack of focus may cause problems while he is on the road. Moreover, there is a larger chance of accidents for drunk driving rather than texting while driving, thus the law penalizes heavier on the former. There is an increase in road accidents in the past. In particular, the government should be able to address the issues especially in the areas of speed limits, road infrastructures, penalties and the congestion of roads in major cities. However, the government is gradually transforming itself into an active participant in the change process with the tapping of the services of various institutions to offer new traffic safety technology to and also educating the youth regarding traffic and general road safety. Private sector initiatives to educate children in the area of traffic management are also significant to reduce the risks of texting while driving and also drunk driving by people especially the students. Proper information and also cautiousness is the key to a safer drive in the future.
This paper discusses the cause and effect of accidents. Accidents usually happen due to many causes, most of the times negligence is the primary cause of accidents.
